Cost shouldn’t be the reason you put off getting help, but for a lot of people, it is. Maybe you’ve looked at private-pay rates and quietly closed the tab. Maybe you assumed therapy was something you’d get to later, once money felt less tight. Maybe you didn’t know affordable, high-quality care was even an option.
Our affordable therapy track is for anyone across Maryland, DC, and Virginia who wants real support without the full-fee price tag: students and recent grads, people between jobs or between insurance, parents stretching every dollar, and anyone who keeps promising themselves they’ll deal with it once things calm down. You don’t need to be in crisis to come in. You just need a way in that fits your budget.
Our graduate-intern clinicians work with the full range of what brings people to therapy. They see individuals, couples, teens, and adults. People commonly come to us for:
If you’re not sure whether your situation counts, it does. If it’s weighing on you, it’s worth bringing in.
Affordable doesn’t mean lesser. Our reduced-rate sessions are provided by master’s-level graduate interns, clinicians completing their supervised training hours, who bring current, evidence-based training and a lot of heart to the work.
Every intern practices under the close clinical supervision of our licensed team, including founder Gardner McCullough, LCSW-C. Your care is reviewed and guided by an experienced licensed clinician the whole way through, so you get a dedicated therapist and a full supervision team behind them, at a fraction of the standard rate. Many clients tell us the focus, warmth, and attentiveness of working with an intern was exactly what they needed.
Your first session is a conversation, not an interrogation. You’ll meet your therapist, talk through what brought you in, and leave with a sense of the plan. No judgment, no intake form read back to you.
A quick note on cost, because it trips a lot of people up. Affordable isn’t only about our reduced self-pay rates. Many people searching for low-cost therapy don’t realize their insurance would cover most, sometimes all, of the cost of seeing one of our licensed therapists. We’re in-network with many major plans, including CareFirst, CareFirst Federal, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and Sentara/Optima, and we accept Virginia Medicaid. Before you rule therapy out on price, let us check your benefits. You may be covered for far more than you expect. And if you’re uninsured or paying out of pocket, our supervised graduate interns offer reduced rates so cost stays manageable.
We offer secure telehealth across Virginia, DC, and Maryland, including evening appointments.
