About

Alyssia King provides individual therapy to tweens, teens, and adults throughout Maryland. With over ten years of experience as an educator working directly with young people and their families, she brings a practical understanding of how school stress, family conflict, peer pressure, and developmental changes affect mental health. Alyssia offers telehealth therapy to clients across the state.

Alyssia works with tweens and teens struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, behavioral challenges, difficulty adjusting to change, and the emotional weight of family instability. She also works with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, identity questions, and the lasting effects of growing up in high-stress or unsupportive environments.

Her approach focuses on understanding how the different parts of your life affect each other: family roles, past experiences, cultural background, and the systems you move through every day. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, she helps clients see how these pieces connect and where real change becomes possible. Clients develop stronger emotional awareness, clearer boundaries, and practical skills they can use outside of session.

Alyssia earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Arkansas in 2024 and is an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist. Whether you are a parent looking for a therapist who understands what your child is going through, a teen who wants someone who will actually listen, or an adult ready to break old patterns, Alyssia provides a warm, inclusive space where real work gets done.
